UPSC Introduction

UPSC stands for “Union Public Service Commission” which has been established in the year 1926, on October 1^st and was later given a constitutional status on January 26, 1950 by the Indian government. UPSC consists of a chairman and 10 members whose services are governed by UPSC regulations that were formed in the year, 1969. The chairman and members of UPSC are appointed by the Indian President where most of the members belong to the central or state services and has an experience of over 10 years as civil servants and are either working or retired. Each member of the UPSC board has a six year term or retires at the age of sixty-five whichever being first. His resignation or removal from the service is considered only by the President of India.
